There’s something in the water in Melbourne, future jazz and boogie just seem to seep out of the city’s pores. The latest to step up is Emma Volard, already a scene veteran and one whose dynamic live band regularly melts minds with their Thundercat-like rhythmic and harmonic acrobatics. Volard is readying a new record for 2024 which will see them hit bigger and louder stages, all the better for one of the best performers we’ve seen in bloody yonks.
