Formed in Brisbane in 2015, Beatnik Empire as a passion project for Matt Collingwood (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Pete Boase (bass). The addition of Wayne Smith (lead guitar) and Richard Savage (drums) has propelled the band to new heights, with one fan at a recent warm-up gig describing the new lineup as “adding a jet engine.”
