Vanessa Stacey

Vanessa Stacey is a Wellington-based singer-songwriter known for her distinctive warm, smoky vocals and soulful, emotionally rich delivery. A graduate of Jazz School, Vanessa has spent more than two decades performing across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, bringing her unique blend of soul, R&B, jazz, funk and contemporary music to festivals, theatres, corporate events and live music venues. Vanessa brings a powerful yet intimate quality to every performance. Major festivals and events include Homegrown, SoundSplash, the Wellington International Jazz Festival, the New Zealand International Arts Festival and NZ Soul All Dayer. She has also shared the stage with international and acclaimed New Zealand artists including Boyz II Men, Boney M and Electric Wire Hustle. As a recording artist, Vanessa has released original music including Monster, Seeds, Stood Still, Will We Learn, Chemistry and the 2020 EP Call. Her work explores soul, jazz, funk and R&B, combining lush melodies and groove-driven arrangements with her signature vocal style. Vanessa has performed with a number of ensembles, including Chocolate Box, The BONE$, Los Helios, Double Trouble and Vanessa Stacey & The Shuffle. Her versatility allows her to move effortlessly between intimate acoustic performances, sophisticated jazz and soul sets, and high-energy funk and party music.
