Rex is a double bassist and multi-instrumentalist who studied music at Rongotai College under music HOD Greg Crayford. He plays in the Capital City Big Band as bassist, is a music tutor, while also working as an itinerant music teacher at Rongotai College. He is currently focused on improving his jazz bass chops and looks to further study upon these skills at Victoria University next year (2026). Rex is an old boy of the college and former award-winning member of the RC Big Band.
