Silasthedon

Silasthedon is a Manchester-based producer and multi-genre DJ whose approach is rooted in record culture, soundsystem heritage and a lifelong dedication to digging for music. Vinyl-focused at heart, he has spent over a decade building a collection that now exceeds 2,000 records, spanning everything from dubstep, grime and UK bass music to house, disco, soul, jazz, funk, Afrobeat, hip-hop and beyond. Since first buying records at the age of 13, music has become both a passion and a craft. While studying Electronic Music Production & Performance at Spirit Studios, Silasthedon began establishing himself within Manchester's bass music community, earning a reputation for technically accomplished vinyl sets and a deep understanding of underground dance music culture. His broad musical knowledge was further shaped through more than five years working at Eastern Bloc Records, one of Manchester's most respected independent record stores. Immersed daily in new releases, reissues and decades of dance music history, the experience helped refine his taste and develop a uniquely wide-ranging perspective on music. Alongside DJing and production, Silasthedon is the founder of Soundboy, a vinyl-focused event series dedicated to underground bass music and soundsystem culture, and The Plastic Loft, booking bass and house dj's to selections across disco, funk, soul, jazz and beyond.
