Maracuya is a versatile DJ, broadcaster and campaigner drawing from across the bass music spectrum. Based in Manchester, they have been gigging around the UK at festivals and venues such as The Warehouse Project, All Points East, Ministry of Sound, Hidden, Dalston Superstore, Boomtown, The Pickle Factory (supporting A Guy Called Gerald) and further afield locations like New York and Buritaca, Colombia. As a broadcaster Maracuya has featured on the likes of NTS and BBC 6 Music, holding a residency at SWU and even founding Manchester station Rainy City Radio. Technical ability and a grasp of genres from around the world, from breakbeat to kuduro, hardcore to latin club give Maracuya’s sets and mixes a dynamic self-assured flavour, letting their audiences know they’re in safe hands from the off. Playing with all these influences for their own productions, Maracuya has been in the studio and plans to start releasing music very soon. Beyond being a musical tastemaker, Maracuya has a lot to contribute, leading to speaker appearances at Glastonbury and Gottwood Festival. They are a resident for collective NOT BAD FOR A GIRL which campaigns to end gender inequality in dance music, and uses their social channels to advocate for disability and mental health awareness.
