Jayson Wynters is “a tough artist to pin down” (FACT) and he likes it that way. Since debuting on mentor Mr G’s Phoenix G label with Unfamiliar Territories – a thumping series of late-night, analogue workouts – the producer and DJ has ventured in many directions. One minute he’s on a deep excursion at Berghain or Free Rotation Festival and the next … he’s in a gallery presenting a talk about storytelling in reggae music. Or curating culture at multi-concept space Artum, which he co-founded in Birmingham.
