Sweaty Baby is the DJ alias of Thomas Parer - but it's also a warning and/or invitation for all who dare to tread the dancefloor when he's on duty: you better get ready to sweat, because he sure is 😘💦 For Thomas, the name of the game is to get everyone dancing themselves into a sweat-drenched euphoria. He is deeply committed to avoiding pretension, armed with campy pop classics, disco and house bangers, and the finest left-field electronic music - ideally with a dash of politics in the mix. Thomas developed his sound and a dedicated following at Meanjin/Brisbane based queer dance party, Shandy, which he started in 2019 and where you can see his approach to DJing go turbo and take over entire venues like Black Bear Lodge and The Tivoli. He is passionate about creating safer spaces and using parties to build community and connection.
