Nova Yu

Nova Yu (宇) is a Taiwan-made, underground-wired cross-genre selector operating in the low-light hours. Dedicated to pushing unique sounds from Taiwan and across Asia, she crafts sets that move beyond the familiar, uncovering hidden gems and bringing them to the dancefloor.

 Her sets move between broken rhythms, spiritual textures and industrial weight, folding folk fragments into hypnotic percussion and slicing bright synth lines through warehouse haze. Equal parts shadow and spark, she builds tension slowly and releases it without warning. Rooted in a chaotic Yuniverse of light and heavy, dark and euphoric, Nova Yu doesn’t sit inside one genre. She blends them, bends them and lets them unravel on the dancefloor.

 Previously deployed at Myaeon Melbourne, for Party Merchants, Loose Rave Unit and Taiwander Party, she appears selectively and performs intensely. 

Low battery. High voltage. Rarely seen, fully present when active. 

 Now setting her sights beyond Australia, she is relocating from Melbourne to Bristol, UK. Bringing Asia’s diverse electronic landscapes with her, she continues to create spaces where different worlds meet through sound.
