Maxi Shield I have been a professional drag queen for 26 years, performing full-time in many of Australia’s bars and clubs and special events and am frequently host and ambassador for a number of annual LGBTQI fixtures such as Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Pride. I was / am very proud to be the face of Virgin Australia Pride Flights and “Friends of Mini” Mardi Gras / World Pride campaigns consecutive years. I recently featured on the first season of Rupaul’s Drag Race Down Under for Stan Entertainment which has opened up opportunities locally and abroad, online and in TV, film and stage – including regular stints with Paramount+ with their reaction series – most recently on Queen of the Universe (seasons 1 & 2) and the John Waters inspired feature film The Winner Takes It All. Donning the “fairy drag” mother wings for my first theatrical duet, in the incredible Shake and Stir original “Tae Tae in the land of YAAAS” at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre for Brisbane Festival to rave reviews. And did someone say “Edinburgh fringe festival 2025”? Taking on the iconic “Sharon” in “Fountain Gate in lock down, a parody play. But this is just the start of my journey. So more to come!
