Since 1996 he has released seven albums and maintains an active performance schedule in Adelaide, where he performs with three distinct acts. His solo performances focus on blues from the 1920s to the 1950s, utilising brass resonator guitars to highlight the various styles of early blues. With his band, The Rhythm Aces, he explores 1950s Chicago blues, early rock n' roll, and swamp blues. In this ensemble Jesse alternates between piano and guitar, accompanied by Jason Mannix on bass and Mario Marino on drums. Additionally the Jesse Deane-Freeman Trio (or JDF Trio, or JDF3) features Jesse on Hammond organ, along with guitar and drums, performing a blend of blues, jazz, lounge, Latin and funk instrumentals in an experimental, improvisational style.
