James Ronan

James Ronan is a Sydney-based Australian-Irish singer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist specialising in Irish traditional music. A regular performer on Sydney’s Irish music scene, James accompanies his vocals on guitar and draws on a broad instrumental background spanning flute, whistles, piano, bodhrán and more. His experience ranges from intimate pub performances and traditional sessions to folk festivals with his band arís and with Na Peacaigh, playing for traditional ceilidh dances, and larger stage productions, including international touring and appearing as an accompanying musician on The Voice. Whether the setting calls for relaxed background music, familiar favourites or a lively pub atmosphere, James can tailor a set to the room, combining singalong songs, classic Irish repertoire and energetic traditional tunes.
