Hazel’s sound is an innovative blend of traditional country elements, haunting melodies, and visual lyrics. Her musical influences are diverse. She was raised on the legendary stories of Graeme Connors, Slim Dusty, and Kasey Chambers, while simultaneously drawing influence from the powerhouse vocals and songwriting of Celine Dion, Jewel, Shania Twain, and Alison Krauss. This eclectic upbringing results in a sound that is uniquely "Australiana"—slightly bluegrass, deeply Celtic, and firmly Alt-country. Known for her theatrical, "out-of-the-box" approach, Hazel’s music is defined by its quirkiness and visual impact, creating a sound that is both authentic and energetic. Following the success of her debut album—which reached No. 1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album charts and with 6 singles all hitting the top 10 radio airplay charts of AMRAP and Australian Country Radio Charts—Hazel continues to collaborate with the seasoned musicians affectionately known as the "Thief".
