Freyja Garbett

Australian artist, Freyja Garbett, is a full time pianist, session musician, producer, composer and teacher living and working on Dharawal Country, south of Sydney, NSW. Freyja began playing violin and piano at a young age, later earning a substantial scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where she graduated summa cum laude in Performance and Jazz Composition. She recently completed a Master of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. As a session musician, collaborator, and musical director, Freyja has worked with a wide range of notable international and Australian artists, including Marina (and the Diamonds), The Veronicas, Montaigne, Reuben Kaye, Touch Sensitive, Ian Moss, Casey Donovan, Stella Donnelly, Katie Noonan, Hermitude, Tom Thum, Urthboy, Jorge Drexler, and Alejandro Sanz, among many others. Freyja has composed, arranged, produced, edited, and performed music for video games, including the upcoming Sowden House, working with Brendan McNamara, known for his work on Grand Theft Auto, creator of L.A. Noire and the founder of Team Bondi and Video Games Deluxe, now Rockstar Australia. This album is due for release early 2026. Freyja released her debut album, ‘Maya’, under record label Art as Catharsis in 2019 and is set to release her sophomore album, ‘Music from the Waves’, on the ABC Jazz label this year. She was also an artist-in-residence with the ABC in 2025.
