Finn Rees is a Tasmanian born, London based keyboardist, composer, producer and DJ who has built up an eclectic reputation for his music work both in ‘Australia’ and internationally over the last decade. He has a knack for capturing emotions and intriguing minds, whatever medium he chooses and can be seen performing as a core member in some of the most forward thinking projects such as Close Counters, 30/70, Allysha Joy, as well as working with many other artists defining the current sound of jazz leaning music: Audrey Powne, Chaos In The CBD, Aroop Roy and more. His debut record ‘Dawn Is A Melody’ came out on tastemaker label Mr Bongo records in 2024 with a massive positive response amongst jazz lovers. This much anticipated venture into his solo work brought together a new synergy between modal and spiritual jazz, psychedelic soul, lush orchestral arrangements and has shown his deep understanding of many modalities. Finn’s knack for selecting grooves has evolved alongside his musicianship, particularly through jazz-house project Close Counters. His sets are filled with his passion for soulful grooves of any kind. Keeping the musicality and rhythm at the core, his mixes traverse through global sounds of jazz infused house, broken beat, brazilian, detroit, disco and more.
