Esi (FKA Mawuli) is an emerging Afro-Aussie R&B artist based in Sydney. With a passion for women’s empowerment, the Ghanaian-Australian creative expresses her artistry through music, fashion and dance. Singing from a young age and raised in the church choir, her sound is rooted in soul and authenticity. She recently shared the stage with Nigeria’s very own Victony and has performed alongside heavy-hitters like Mike Champion, Yawdoesitall, Boom Child and Mike Akox (The Showman). Esi has also collaborated and showcased with brands including JD Sports, Nike, Converse All Stars and ARIAs, continuing to build her presence within the industry. Recently, she participated in a masterclass with Vivian Sessoms through the Black Music Alliance. Vivian, who has shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan and Pink, provided a space for artists to learn, grow and celebrate each other’s voices. Named by Vice Artist Spotlight as having a “boisterous and free” stage presence, Esi commands attention with effortless confidence. Following the release of her recent single “BEGGING” and with an EP currently in the works, Esi is undeniably one to watch in 2026.
