Electric Ginger

Electric Ginger is the disco-pop alter ego of singer, songwriter and producer Greg Townley, based in Far Meadow on the NSW South Coast. Blending a background in rock with a love of electronic music, Electric Ginger sits between synth-driven pop, cheeky electro and guitar-infused nostalgia. Think falsetto hooks, 80s-leaning synths and dancefloor-ready energy, balanced with humour and a genuine emotional core. Townley writes, records and produces his music from a farm studio, performing much of the instrumentation himself while collaborating with a tight circle of musicians. Live, Electric Ginger has built a reputation for high-energy, theatrical performances that lean into fun, connection and pure escapism. Since his 2019 self-titled debut, Electric Ginger has released a second album, It’s A Yes From Me, a light-hearted alternative pop record exploring love, loss and connection through a playful lens. The video for his single Use Me received rotation on MTV, with collaborations across the record including Jonny Sonic (The Potbelleez). Electric Ginger has performed at festivals including Fairgrounds, SurfLife and Distilled. Townley’s songwriting has also featured on Australian television, including Bondi Rescue and other productions. A disco-pop hero-for-hire, Electric Ginger exists to lift moods, fill dancefloors and make the everyday feel a little less ordinary.
