Earl's Kitchen

The story of Earl’s Kitchen begins at school, when a young Earl would rap the CGU insurance ads, changing the words to entertain his mates. It was fun at the time, but Earl soon moved on to other things, spending the best part of 15 years focused primarily on Bossa Nova guitar. But somewhere along the way, the rapper in Earl had been waiting for the right moment to return. That moment came when Earl attended a Yung Gravy concert. The experience was transformational. Watching the show, Earl realised that there was something special about not taking yourself too seriously — and that performing with your tongue firmly in cheek is the most fun you can have on stage. A few months later, Earl began performing stand-up comedy and bringing his original songs into comedy rooms. The more time he spent on stage, the clearer the niche became. Today Earl’s Kitchen is a blend of three ingredients: lead guitar solos, parody hip-hop and stand-up comedy. It has been described by punters as “Bikini Bottom”. Step into the mind and imagination of Earl’s Kitchen — but make sure you come hungry.
