Dean Nash

Hi! I’m a Western Sydney based singer-songwriter, screenwriter and theatre make.
Outside of my artistic practice I’m a singing teacher and owner of the “Nash Vocal Institute” and also the disability Access co-ordinator at the multi arts org “Brand X” 

Musically I works across multiple genres, starting my musical journey in alt rock & punk bands in my late teens and early 20’s, before mellowing into a more singer-songwriter/ folk style. I’m also a massive musical theatre nerd and co wrote 2021 concept musical “the breaths in between” with Naarm based production company “11 o’clock theatre” 

My most recent project blended my contemporary music and MT music worlds together. “Dean, Don’t Dance” an award winning 60 minute radically-accessible, musical comedy cabaret about navigating the performing arts as a disabled person. A collection of stories, punchy jokes and a slate of original songs. It’s most recent season was at the Old Fitz Theatre Jan 20 - 25 2026. 
In 2021 I recorded and released A solo EP called “In the Autumn” and in 2023 I recorded and released a single called “Leather Wallet.” Storytelling is at the heart of my music that has - very flatteringly - been compared to artists like ben folds, Ben lee and Tim Minchin. I’ve Co-written with a number of artists and bands and although I gravitate to theatre and screen, contemporary songwriting is always my first love.
