Cold Snap

Established in 2007, Cold Snap is a Melbourne-based Rhythm & Blues Revue delivering a sophisticated blend of blues, soul, funk and classic R&B with the energy and musicianship of a true live show. Fronted by husband-and-wife duo Joe Valenti (guitar, vocals) and Sonia Valenti (vocals, alto saxophone), Cold Snap combines powerful vocals, soulful instrumentation and infectious grooves with the natural chemistry developed through years of performing together. Their dynamic live sound is supported by accomplished musicians on keyboards, bass and drums. In 2025, Cold Snap were Runners-Up in the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) Blues Challenge, narrowly missing the opportunity to represent Melbourne at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The band has performed at respected events including the Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival, St Kilda Blues Festival, Eltham Jazz, Food & Wine Festival, Echuca Winter Blues Festival, Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival, Alice Springs Blues Festival, the Blues Train and Phillip Island MotoGP. Drawing on Chicago blues, Memphis soul, classic R&B and vintage funk, Cold Snap delivers a polished, versatile show designed to connect with audiences of all ages.
