Carl's musical sojourn began at age 14 as a cabaret singer supporting some of Australia's finest crooners. In 2001, Carl formed The Dead Abigails. Unearthed by Triple J, the Abigails signed to Shock Publishing and released the Code EP. They received regular airplay on Triple J, Rage and later on McLeods Daughters, Young Lyons and Big Brother. The Abigails were named Oz Music Ambassadors, toured the UK and supported many great Australian bands including, Grinspoon, Diesel, The Whitlams and INXS.
