Andrew Gatenby Music

Andrew was born in raised in Tasmania and has been a constant presence on the Melbourne Music scene since the year 2000. He completed an Associate Diploma of Composition at The Tasmanian Conservatorium Of Music and taught guitar privately and for various local institutions. Andrew is a founding member of Melbourne’s most successful coverband of the new millennium, ADAM12 (2000 – 2020). He is also half of the successful acoustic duo, ADAM 2 (2008 – present) and currently plays Lead Guitar in the coverband Rustic Sons (2024 – present). Andrew has a passion for original music and composition and has been involved in numerous original projects over the past 25 yrs and has proudly released several EP’s of Instrumental Music under his own name, featuring guitar and orchestral based pieces, Ambient and Electronic and everything in between. Since 2021 Andrew has embarked on a new journey as a solo acoustic act bringing the same professional attitude and heart and soul that has been a feature of his music career to date. As a Solo musician Andrew has developed a strong individual style which fuses his impeccable, soulful Guitar playing with authentic and sincere vocal delivery, mixed in with some looping, strong song choices and a persona that audiences warm to. Andrew performs all over Melbourne, from Crown Casino to Peninsula Wineries, functions at venues such as The National Gallery, Private events and weekly Solo Gigs in Pubs and Venues across the City.
