Andre Jean Marc

Andre is a Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and session player whose work spans cinematic post-rock, art-rock, and alt-country. With a focus on power, dynamic texture and tone, he moves seamlessly between studio production and driving live rhythm sections. As the bassist and producer for instrumental post-rock band Grün— "Bird’s Robe Records" - Andre anchors the band's expansive sound. Grün have shared stages with Japanese post-rock legends MONO, the Crooked Fiddle Band, COG, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. Focusing on guitars, keys, and production, he also shapes the sonic architecture for Sydney art-rock collective Sonori. Standout performances include Psyfari festival, the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre’s Resonantwave - in collaboration with Lebanese-Australian visual artist Eddie Abd. Lithglow, and Sharing bills with heavy weights We Lost the Sea, and Tijuana Cartel, and Crooked fiddle. Demonstrating his versatility as a rhythm player, Andre holds down the low end for Sydney country outfit CK and the 45s. A favourite of the local live circuit, the band performs regularly across Sydney venues and is a heavy, recurring feature each year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Currently, Andre is writing and producing a new slate of original projects that bridge his diverse influences. Upcoming releases will blur the boundaries between shoegaze, shoegaze metal, post-rock, electro, big beat, drum & bass, and post-punk.
