Adam Rudegeair

Adam Rudegeair is a pianist, educator, and broadcaster based in Melbourne. His portfolio of projects is sprawling, and includes Lake Minnetonka, The Bowie Project, Retconned Bond, and Bourbon Street to Brunswick Street (a collaboration with ‘boss of the piano’ Bob Sedergreen). He has been the musical director of Henry Manetta and the Trip for over 25 years, and moonlights in many groups including Real Life, Brian El Dorado and the Tuesday People, Nadira and Friends. Adam’s musical interests include New Orleans piano stylings, Prince and the Minneapolis sound, and film soundtracks. He was the composer for two feature films from the independent production company Cinema Viscera — Trench (2018) and Apparitions (2021) Since 2008 he has hosted the weekly jazz radio program ‘Black Wax’ on PBS 106.7fm, where he has interviewed a many of his musical heroes such as Rick Beato, Kurt Elling, Jacob Collier, Victor Wooten, Janelle Monae, Dr John, Chick Corea, and Maceo Parker.
